SATURDAY MAY 19TH OPENS AFL ITALIA 2012 PREMIERSHIP Saturday May 19th at 3 pm will take off the AFL Italia 2012 Premiership, on the City of Ferno Rugby Pitch. The first game of the season will see the home team, the Milano Footy Eagles taking on the Roma Blues FC, winners of the Italia Cup Tournament played on March 31st at Francavilla al Mare Football Ground. The fixture will then see the match between the Roma side and the Genova Dockers defending champions, in a fascinating rematch of last year’s Grand Final. The day will close with the game between the Genova Dockers and the Milano Eagles. Second Matchday will be on June 3rd at the Carlini Stadium in Genova recently refurbished, with a synthetic pitch of the very last generation. The last Matchday of the home and away season will be in Roma on June 16th. At the end of those matches, the two sides best placed on the ladder will play off in the Grand Final that will take place on July 14th. Then the season will progress with the national AFL Italia Azzurri Team, starting their training for the Euro Cup 2012 in Edinburgh, Scotland on September 22nd, with the tough task to do better than last year's 4th place overall in Belfast, which was itself a fantastic effort.
